Welcome to Province VIII of the Episcopal Church!
We are glad you have contacted us and hope that you will find the information that you need in these pages. Our Province is the largest in geographic area of the nine provinces in our Church comprising over 900 congregations within seventeen dioceses and one area mission. Importantly, we carry out our mission as a way to strengthen the various ministries in each of our dioceses. Here, in this place, God has called us to minister in mission together in the hope that in our individual places we are strengthened to do God’s work.
In these pages you will see the wonderful diversity of the eighth Province of the Episcopal Church. Through our three clusters of ministry networks, Women’s Ministry, Ethnic and Social Justice, and Education, and the work of their Conveners in association with our Provincial Coordinator, we hope to connect one another in a way that enhances this mission of doing God’s work together in this wonderful part of our Church! We do this through convocations and workshops where we share our ‘best practices’ in ministry, and with the support and authorization of our triennial Synod of bishops, clergy and lay delegates from all our dioceses and area mission. Please contact us for further information and assistance in your own ministry. Again, welcome to Province VIII!
