Here's an update on our plans for Orientation to General Convention to be held online May 19 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m (Pacific Daylight Time). Although we initially thought we would have four host sites where folks could gather for a live two-way conversation, it became clear in our discussion with Sean McConnell, our technical wizard, that all presenters must be onsite at Grace Cathedral, San Francisco, and the idea of having four "live" host sites was abandoned.
Every deputy, diocese, and interested parishioner will be able to watch the proceedings right here at www.provinceviii.org. Participants will need the following:
- Broadband internet connection.
- Computer with recently upgraded browser: Explorer, Firefox, Safari
- Projector or large screen TV monitor(s) sufficient to the size of your on-site audience.
If you would like to participate via chat or email, you might want to have a secondary computer to handle that function.
A video of the proceedings will be available afterwards. If you decide to host a gathering for your deputation, please let Patricia Erskine, our Provincial Coordinator know the location and if there is room for guests. (province8coordinator@gmail.com).
Please join us! If you're coming to Grace Cathedral , we will NOT be charging any fees for participants or guests and there is no registration. Since we are not providing meals to guests, we ask that you bring your own lunch or snacks. FYI, a Peets coffee kiosk is located outside of Gresham Hall (Grace Cathedral).
Thank you.
Have a blessed Easter.
