Congratulations to Bishop-Elect Brian Prior

We are delighted and proud to announce that our own Brian Prior, Province VIII Youth Coordinator, VP of the House of Deputies, and Rector of Episcopal Church of the Resurrection in Spokane has been elected to be the ninth bishop of the Diocese of Minnesota!  Brian is the vanguard of a new generation of church leaders who are taking the helm at a time of challenge and opportunity.  He is the perfect choice to lead the Diocese of Minnesota.  To let him go will not be easy, but it could not be more right.  It has been a great pleasure and privilege to work closely with Brian. There could be no finer role model for our youth and young adults. His work alongside Kathy Hamilton and others in the provincial youth network is a model for building leadership and growing the church.  He has continually reminded us to listen to the Holy Spirit

Educating Leaders in Ministry for a Changing Church and World

In a world of change, need, and hope, The Church Divinity School of the Pacific is partnering with Pacific Lutheran Theolgoical Seminary to enrich learning, formation and ministry.  President and Dean Donn Morgan writes "The TEEM (Theological Education for Emerging Ministries) partnership between CDSP and PLTS brings the educational resources of two experiences and innovative seminaries together to meet the Church's need to develop leaders for diverse, locally defined ministries.  We at CDSP are grateful for the opportunity to bring the accessibility, flexibility, and affordability of the TEEM program to the Episcopal Church."

The Older Adult Ministries Task Force Survey Due October 31

The Older Adult Ministries Task Force is gathering information about resources that are available to congregations and dioceses in all provinces of the Episcopal Church. They have asked Bishops to get the survey out to all congregations.  The deadline is October 31. Here is what your congregation needs to know and do:

Provincial Leadership Conference, Mercy Center, September 14-16

The 2009 annual Provincial Leadership Conference (PLC) will begin at Noon on Monday, September 14th and end at Noon on Wednesday, September 16th at Mercy Center in Burlingame, California.  The Executive Committee will begin its meeting at 3 pm on Sunday, September 13th and end at 2 pm on Wednesday, September 16th.

The theme for PLC will be "Ubuntu", a concept interpreted by South African Archbishop Emeritus Desmond
